Detoxification
“Heal Your Body”
What is Detoxification?
Detoxification is the science by which your body’s natural metabolic processes changes toxins into less toxic or more readily excretable substances. This built-in system makes your very existence possible by working 24/7 to rid your body of health-damaging impurities (toxins) through your liver, gut, skin, kidneys, and lungs.
Toxic Burden of Modern Living
Since the industrial revolution, 80,000 new scientifically created chemicals have been introduced into our environment. These chemicals are hidden within our air, food, water, and even everyday products—shampoos, skincare, cosmetics, cars, fabrics, mattresses, non-stick pans, plastics, and more. When combined, the sheer number of these chemicals can place a heavy toxic burden on the body.
From 1999–2000 & 2015-2016, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) led extensive research in measuring chemicals in people and reports levels of over 200 of these environmental chemicals such as heavy metals, flame retardants, phthalates, and pesticides in the fat, tissue, blood, and urine of large sample groups. What’s even more alarming is some of these substances are carcinogens, while others have the potential to throw hormones out of whack and wreak havoc on organ function.
In many ways, our body’s natural detoxification systems do a fantastic job of removing naturally occurring toxins, such as metabolic toxins. However, add the burden of environmental toxins on top of stress, and the standard American diet, filled with processed foods, pesticides, refined sugars, additives, and preservatives—this chemical cocktail leaves no wonder why our internal detoxification systems are simply overburdened.
Is Your Body Overtaxed with Toxins?
When your body becomes overtaxed with toxic invaders, your natural detox abilities can weaken, allowing toxins to build-up inside the body—all of which can cause degenerative health symptoms and leave you feeling tired and sick.
Signs You May Want to Consider a Healthy Detox Program:
• Mental confusion, absentmindedness, poor concentration, indecision
• Mood swings, anxiety, depression, irritability
• Difficulties losing weight
• Fatigue/lack of energy
• Insomnia, restless sleep or difficulty relaxing / stress
• Headaches
• Digestive problems (constipation, diarrhea, gas, ulcers, heartburn, IBS)
• Painful inflammation (joints, muscles, sinuses, intestines)
• Intense cravings for sugar, beer, and bread
• Skin disorders (acne, psoriasis, etc.)
The bright side? While you can’t necessarily control your exposure to all environmental toxins, you can control your lifestyle. By removing dietary stressors contributing to toxic overload and adopting a nutrient-dense diet and cleansing lifestyle, you can begin to reverse the course of degenerative health.
How to Properly Eliminate Toxins From Your Body
Each of your detoxifying organs relies upon one another to properly eliminate toxins, making it essential to not only cleanse each individual organ but crucial to cleanse each of them at the same time.
For example, if you do just a colon cleanse, the toxins often travel back through the wall of the colon and re-accumulate in the liver again. So you can cleanse your colon but re-toxify your liver if you’re not cleansing your liver at the same time. And vice versa, the same thing if you cleanse your liver but haven’t cleansed your colon.
One significant factor that has made M’lis a leader in detoxification for 40+ years is because our detox programs are not just a colon cleanse, a liver cleanse, or even a kidney cleanse — they’re total-body detox programs. Instead of moving toxins from one place to another, both the M’lis Detoxification Kit and M’lis Total Body Cleanse Kit give your body the ability to remove toxins from every single organ and tissue where they reside, boost your natural detox abilities, and create daily, healthy habits that you will want to continue after you finish.
